First Accident Forgiveness

Accidents can happen to anyone--even the safest, most responsible drivers. So it’s no surprise that, when asked which two policy features are most important, 33% of adults cited the no-drop promise and accident forgiveness.

With First Accident Forgiveness² from The Hartford, you needn’t worry about a rate increase after your first accident. Once you qualify for this benefit, it won’t count against you—even if you are at fault. Your rates will not go up.

² Some benefits, including First Accident Forgiveness and the Disappearing Deductible are only available with the optional Advantage Plus package. To qualify for these two benefits, all drivers on the policy must have a clean record (no accidents or violations) for five consecutive years (in most states). For the Disappearing Collision Deductible, these five years must include a period of three consecutive years as a policyholder in this Hartford auto insurance program, commencing after the effective date of the policy issued through this offer.
